At the quarterly meeting, a few questions were raised about the voting:

B) Woman was wondering if she can “change her profile information”. The answer is YES. Each member can update their own information two ways; 1) They do what I explained above and there is a sentence that states (after telling you that you are already a member) to enter your email again to change profile information. 2) At the end of each newsletter sent out, there is an option to change profile info too. They can also go to Peg.

Why should I become a member of the CKCA? To be kept in the loop with all the goings on in Crown King, to have someone to turn to for help if there’s an issue regarding the roads, county, forest svc, etc. Quite simply, if you own property in Crown King or live up there permanently, you should be a member.

I already gave Peg my $10, why is she asking for more?

The membership cost is $10 PER PERSON, not per household. If there are two people in the home, you need to pay $20.

What if I just want to donate to the CKCA or the community?

The CKCA will accept all donations! Our PO BOX is 176, Crown King, AZ 86343. You can also personally give donations to any of the board members if you see us around. If you would like to send a donation and have part of it go to another association such as fire dept, historical society or road maintenance, just make a note of it and how much and we will be happy pass it along for you! We appreciate your generosity with anything that helps our community as a whole.

Do I have to be a member to receive the E-newsletter?

No. Open to the general public. Just email Peg with your information. We used to have an easy sign up on the main page and it was removed due for security reasons.

How do I present an issue? In writing. Fax, mail, email, etc. Direct to any of the Board members. The only other way is to attend one of our quarterly or our annual meeting.

What types of issues would the CKCA be able to help with? Anything regarding the community as a whole. Sheriff, County, Animal Control, Events, Programs, etc. Our goal is to serve you, the members of this community as one voice to get real action from other agencies.

What is the voting process? Online surveys sent via email. A select few do get ballots mailed to them. Contact Peg if you are unable to vote via internet.

Why have two methods?

Many people voiced concerns at the 1st Annual Meeting that an email/online voting system would be much simpler, and faster for most residents when it comes to issues in the community that require voting. However, there are still those with limited access to computers and prefer voting the old fashioned way. It will be up to board to check for duplicate votes between the two methods.

Can’t people vote repeatedly online?

No. Our voting will be sent as a survey to the email address provided and tallied by the online system we are using, so it cancels out duplicates. Plus, Peg is our record keeper and she knows who each email belongs to – she is required to separate the groups of addresses so we know the difference between who is just a newsletter recipient(from out of state for instance) and who is an actual resident.

What if there are two people using the same email address and both need to vote?

You will need to have one person vote on paper, and the other online. Or create a new email(this is free with yahoo, google, etc.). Or if one person in the household has another email address through work, and the other person can use the home address. Let Peg know how you prefer to do this.

How do I become a sponsor on the e-newsletters?

Send Meara your information via email. She needs a website link, and a small JPEG photo of your logo. Let her know how many months you are planning to run the ad. There is a minimum of 6 months.

The cost is $10 per month. There is a set-up fee of $30 to get it started. If you plan to run the ad for 6 months, then take a break and re-run at a later date, you will need to re-pay the set up fee.

**For those who paid for sponsorships at the introductory rate during the August, September, and October newsletters, you will not be charged an increase for the months you have already paid for. Once your ad running time is up (say you paid for 6 months), you will not be charged the set-up fee, but the price will then go up to the $10 per month with a 6 month minimum signing.

How do I volunteer?

There are many projects, events and issues within the community that always require the help of volunteers. Just let us know how you’d like to help! Currently we are recruiting for helpers with the CK Prom on May 15th.
